Dear Editor:

As the Executive Director of Clínica Tepeyac, I was extraordinarily pleased with the April 6 edition that provided general information, particularly as it relates to detection, of the various types of cancer. This series of articles was quite effective in terms of heightening our Latino community’s awareness with regard to this topic and, more importantly, the importance of annual screenings.

I applaud the editorial staff at La Voz for making this issue a high priority. It is exactly this type of media attention that will serve to better inform our community and inspire individuals to be more proactive regarding their own health and the health of their loved ones.
