Leading the tech pack

Colorado businesses felt the pinch when the economy tanked. However, this did not stop businesses from thriving throughout Colorado — especially in the area of technology.

To the north and leading the pack, AccuCode Inc., based in Louisville, Colo. has been solving problems through the application of technology since 1995. Sales have sky rocketed from $450,000 to 2.2 million, and are not showing any signs of slowing down. The company currently has 52 full-time employees but with growth like the one they have experienced there is no doubt the family like team of 52 will develop into a tech giant.

BOULDER

Hot button for technology

Just down the road in Boulder, a software development company by the name of Amadeus Consulting is making waves in the technology world. Amadeus specializes in e-commerce, custom software applications, data collection and browser plug-ins and mobile application. Amadeus much like AccuCode have a small staff of 58 full-time employees, which is a 10 percent increase from last year. Amadeus was also part of the Colorado technology boom in the ‘90s and was established in 1994. This company is set for major growth in the next ten years, which will bring more jobs to the Flatirons soon.

GOLDEN

Not to be outdone

Just south of AccuCode and Amadeus is another technological conglomerate based out of Golden, Colo. Broad Reach Engineering Co. is an engineering design company that specializes in the design and manufacturing of avionics, computers, flight software and GPS receivers. Broad Reach currently has 61 full-time employees who are some of the best designers in the aerospace industry. The company has recently teamed up with Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics at the University of Colorado at Boulder, sponsoring seniors, graduate students and doctoral candidates. Broad Reach Engineering was developed in 1997 and is primed to lead Spacecraft Technology in the U.S.
