Many injuries have played a major setback for the Denver Nuggets starters like Danilo Gallinari have missed games due to ongoing injuries. On a positive note, the Western Conference surfaced as the new All-Star Game victors this past weekend with a score of 152-149. For the records, Kobe Bryant scored 27 points, as the All-Star Game’s highest scoring player since Michael Jordon.

In boxing — Jessie Vargas known as “La Nueva Generacion” (The New Generation) unanimously beat Lanardo Tyner in a 10 round boxing contest. The event took place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Feb. 24. Vargas is 22 years old and ranks in the top 10 of the World Boxing Association (WBA). He has 17 wins to his record nine of which are knockouts. His opponent, Tyner known as “Pain Server” has 33 fights on record with 25 wins, 15 of them knockouts. Vargas is managed by Mayweather Promotions.

In other sports — New York Nicks Jeremy Lin continues to remain in the limelight before, during and after NBA play even at the All-Star event. Lin, the NBA League’s first American born player of Chinese descent, has changed the face of basketball attracting new fans and leaving current fans in amazement.
