As you all know the Denver Broncos schedule was released last week and their first regular season game is up against the Steel Curtain, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers, almost never associated with losing, have appeared in eight Super Bowls and have come away the Super Bowl Champions in six of them. The Steelers lost their championship game to the New England Patriots last season, which would have taken them to their ninth Super Bowl appearance. This season, however, they are back, possibly with a vengeance and within a few months are scheduled to meet the Payton Manning-packed Denver Broncos team on Sept. 9 at 6:20 p.m. MST at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
Watch out Steeler fans, because the Manning fans await a super charged game and season from their 30 something hero as he puts his football experience, abilities and endurance to the test.
In Major League Soccer: The Colorado Rapids lost to the Galaxy on Saturday, April 21, showcasing soccer star David Beckham (no sign of former Spice Girl, Victoria in the crowd). The match drew the second largest crowd (over 19,000) in the history of Dick’s Sporting Goods Park’s, which opened in 2007. The Rapids dominated most of the game, but the end result was a recorded loss, 2-1.
But the highlight of the day for Westminster soccer spectator Trena Rodriguez was the end of the soccer match when Beckham removed his jersey and picked her out of thousands of other fans and handed Rodriguez his #23 jersey. Great PR move, Beckham! On Saturday, April 28 at Dick’s Sporting Goods the Colorado Rapids host Chivas USA.
