In celebration of National Women’s Health Week, Clínica Tepeyac is hosting the first annual Adelante 5K Walk and Run, Community Expo and Kids Half-Mile Fun Run on Sunday, May 13. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Stapleton Recreation Center in Denver’s Globeville neighborhood and is open to men, women and families. The Tenth Annual Mariachi Extravaganza will take place from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, May 18 at North High School Auditorium, located at 2960 N. Speer Blvd. (Speer & Federal). This annual production is a fundraising event, which promotes and showcases the culture, beauty and richness of mariachi music for students in grades three to eight, who attend Bryant Webster Dual Language ECE-8 School. The Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder will host its 3rd Annual Business Diversity Symposium on Friday, May 18. Denver Botanic Gardens’ seedlings classes offer a fun, hands-on way for young children, ages 18 months to six years, to explore the plant world while developing an understanding and appreciation for plants and their importance. Classes include interactive explorations, nature walks and stories for children and their caregivers. Seedlings programs are offered for three different age groups and are modified to fit the developmental needs of each group. Classes are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
