PROFILE
Nancy Luevano, a senior at York International, is an academically competitive student who has already completed nine credits of college level courses. She has been named to the Honor Roll throughout high school and maintains a 3.46 GPA. She is a member of the Student Council, Senior Leadership Ambassadors and LARAZA Youth Leadership program. She plans to attend the Metropolitan State College of Denver this fall. She is bilingual and is a member of the varsity softball team and previously played in the varsity soccer team.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Luevano currently volunteers with Skyview Athletics through an internship assisting an athletic trainer where she is learning how to be a trainer. She has volunteered through the City of Thornton Volunteer Corps where she spent her time playing bingo with elderly at a senior citizens residency, worked at a concessions stand during community events and provided care for children. Being a part of a community,” Luevano said gives you the opportunity to see whom one can “look up to.” She explained that she’d like to see younger generations do the same for her as she has done for senior citizens — spend time with them.

“I would give anybody in the U.S. papers so that they can go to college and so that they can accomplish their dreams and help others to be educated.”
