Summer’s end doesn’t appear anywhere in sight with blistering triple-digit temperatures. The only indication that Colorado’s record shattering heat may be nearing an end is the start of Broncos training camp this week.

Game one of the pre-season kicks off at Soldier Field where Denver fans will get their first glimpse at their prestigious quarterback, Peyton Manning. Although just a pre-season game, Denver fans would like to see their newly acquired gunslinger outplay the well detested Jay Cutler.

Week one is less than three weeks away and Denver’s home preseason kickoff will take place one week later at Sports Authority Field at Mile High when Denver hosts the Seattle Seahawks at 7 p.m. MST. After week two, only two games remain in the preseason with the San Francisco 49ers at home and the Arizona Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium before the Broncos kick off a highly anticipated season with none other than the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers were ousted by Denver last season on a hook up by the young and humble Tim Tebow and his favorite recipient, Demaryius Thomas, on the first play of overtime in Denver’s first post-season game. As Denver fans sadly remember their home team was later ousted by the New England Patriots 10-45 at Gillette Stadium.

In baseball: The Colorado Rockies continue to drift further and further into the abyss losing 7 of their last 10 since the All-Star break. Colorado will wrap their three-game series with the D-Backs this week before coming home to host the Cincinnati Reds at Coors Field.
