The third preseason game between the Denver Broncos and the San Francisco 49ers was not the outcome Denver Broncos fans expected at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Sunday afternoon. In the midst of a 70,000+ excited fans in attendance, their home team first led with an impressive shutout of 17-0 against the incoming 49ers. At the royal helm, long-time National Football League superstar, Peyton Manning passed impressively, but unfortunately the end result was a 29-24 loss to San Francisco.
At contest’s end, Manning’s statistics were 10 of 12 completions, two touchdowns and a total of 122 yards — a promising offense opening for regular season.
The Denver Broncos meet the Arizona Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium on Thursday night. The long-awaited first regular season game match-up between the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers takes place on Sunday, Sept. 9. It will be the ultimate test for Manning and the Broncos.
In Baseball: On Monday, the Colorado Rockies beat the ailing Los Angeles Dodgers 10-0 at Coors Field.
