PROFILE

Daniel Caballero has a respectful demeanor that complements his academic prowess and dedication to community. Now in his senior year at George Washington High School, Caballero maintains a 3.8 GPA. He has been named to the Honor Roll since his sophomore year, is a Mile High Scholar and a CU Scholar. He is enrolled in an intro in Criminal Justice course at the University of Colorado Denver as part of the CU Scholars program. He is a member of National Honor Society, JROTC, Patriots in Training Crew, Pre-Collegiate, former member of the junior varsity football team and participated in Boys State 2012. He was a Junior Escort in 2012. He would like to attend CU Denver. Caballero is bilingual and works part-time.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

He was an escort in the Commander in Chief’s Conference 2011, volunteered at the Denver Marathon for two years, participated in the 9Health Fair and served as a photographer for JROTC All-City Drill Meet. He also serves as a mentor to freshmen through P.I.T. Crew. “I feel that I have this need to help out others whether it’s taking out the trash or helping an elderly person cross the street, it’s just the right thing to do.” He said, “That’s how it starts with one person doing the right things.”

IF I COULD IMPROVE THE WORLD . . .

“I would start with teaching all the children in the world good morals because it starts with [them]. He continued, “They’ll pass them as they become older and that’s how we can have a better future for everyone else.”
