Lucha and Boli are ready to start their own all-female mariachi band, but they’ll have to fight a male-dominated music genre and pressure from their families to get it done. This humorous, heartwarming story about music’s power to heal and connect includes gorgeous live mariachi music. American Mariachi is at the Denver Center for Performing Arts, 1101 13th St, in Denver from now until February 25. Visit for more information.

A thousand years ago, the Ancestral Puebloans built a complex and extensive civilization in the mountains and deserts of the Southwest. They left behind extraordinary art and architecture which reflect their intimate relationship with the land, the sun, the moon and stars. A Fiske project combines the scholarly, artistic and technological expertise of the University of Colorado, Boulder. Their team includes astronomers and archaeologists who have made some of the most important discoveries in these regions. This educational experience will combine ancient knowledge and modern technology to explore the universal connection between humans and the skies. This project will be held at Fiske Planetarium, 2414 Regent Dr, in Boulder on Thursday February 8th through February 9th, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visit for more information.

The 36th annual UNC Gala is a celebration of our student artists, bringing outstanding students in visual art, music, and theatre to one stage. All proceeds from ticket sales go to fund scholarships for students in the Arts at UNC. The Student Juried Art Exhibition and Reception in Tointon Gallery will begin at 6 p.m. and the performance featuring student artists, musicians, actors, and dancers in Monfort Concert Hall will begin at 7 p.m. Visit for more information.

The Sangre de Cristo Arts Center and Buell Children’s Museum offer an unforgettable experience for those who visit, and the second Sunday of every other month during 2018 offers free basic admission.
