Mark your calendars and join Museo de Las Americas for ‘Written In the Stars” a fashion show featuring local Latin designers. Doors open Friday October 19, at 6 p.m.; the fashion show starts promptly at 7 p.m. There will be jewelry vendors, fashion vendors, and food vendors. Bring your thirst for fashion and original creativity. Shop among local talented artists focusing on jewelry and clothing and the current exhibition, El Infinito, which is about the Stars and the Aztecs. Dress code is semi-formal. There will be tasty food vendors to satisfy your appetite and quench your thirst.

Discover the dynamic culture and abundant biodiversity of the Caribbean’s largest island nation in the new temporary exhibition “¡CUBA!,” opening at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science on Oct. 26. This lively experience for all ages — presented in English and Spanish , inspires new perspectives and immerses Museum guests in the people, landscapes, unique species and daily life of this intriguing country. The exhibition is free with general admission. The Museum worked with the Cuban community in Denver to enhance the experience, by adding live musical and dance performances at times during the exhibition’s run, and contributing to exhibits with profiles and personal mementos from local Cuban Americans.

The 5th annual Choctoberfest at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds, 25690 E. Quincy Ave., on Saturday, October 13 features over 75,000 chocolate samples from craft chocolatiers at a comfortable, spacious 25,000 square foot indoor venue. Visitors can try dozens of different samples with taste tickets, and purchase boxes and bags of chocolates and sweets from their favorite vendors for the holidays, birthdays, wedding favors, corporate gifts, and to enjoy at home. Join Fritzler’s Farm October 13th in your best Zombie garb to ride around the Greeley and Windsor area and return to the dealership for your chance to win a Fritzler’s Farm and Haunted Park Pass. All Zombie Ride participants will be entered into the raffle and you must be present to win.

A Southern Colorado family tradition is back the Buell Children’s Museum on Saturday, October 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children of all ages will be able to trick-or-treat through the Buell Children’s Museum’s “Super Squad 5” exhibit, and through the exhibits in the Helen T. White Gallery building, create popcorn hands and lollipop ghosts, paper bag trees, and more!

This extra-special second Sunday at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center includes awesome First-Responder activities with a helicopter, firetruck. Join us to meet some of the women and men who keep our community safe and healthy. Free basic admission on October 14 is made possible by Val Tursi & the Southern Colorado Community Foundation in honor of First Responders.
