Community involvement

Through the YESS Institute, Bastian mentors underclassmen students. She also provides assistance to parents taking classes to improve their computer and English skills. Bastian also spent her time being a role model for incoming freshmen as a Link Leader where part of her duties were to introduce these students to the high school environment.

Why is community involvement important?

“It is the best way to give back to the community. The more people involved in the community the bigger the change that we can make.”

If I could improve the world, I would?

“I would try to make everyone understand that we are all equal, we are all human and we should treat each other with respect. I’d give everyone the opportunity to an education, to be successful in life.”
